Live Webinar
MBSE to Wire Harness Design (Part 3)
Wednesday, May 26, 2021 - 2:00 pm EDT

This webinar explores the design process for moving the video drone model within GENESYS to E3.series for cable and harness design.  Utilizing the new E3.GENESYS Connector, this direct transfer replaces weeks of work to convert the model into documents for implementation.  Through this process, the cable design team has access to the video drone model from within the E3.series design environment.  The requirements, parameters, diagrams, etc., are all fully visible from E3.series.  A demonstration is provided to cover the entire design process that starts with transferring the video drone model to E3.series, followed by viewing the model within E3.series, and finally, cable design based on the model content.

Building the Video Drone Product Model (Part 1)

This is the first in a webinar series covering Digital Engineering Basics. In this webinar, we will use systems engineering best practices to build a video drone product model based on product marketing requirements. Using Vitech’s GENESYS product the system context will be defined that includes the drone, remote control, a phone App, a GPS satellite and the operating environment. The marketing requirements are then decomposed into requirements, behaviors, parameters and ultimately an architecture. Different aspects of the model will be explored using SysML diagrams including the Constraint Definitions which are used in part 2 of the webinar series for trade studies.

Perform a Video Drone Model Trade Study (Part 2)

This webinar will demonstrate systems engineering best practices in verifying product requirements using a MBSE model. Parameters and Constraint definitions will be used to build equations to analyze various aspects of the model that lead to a business value trade-off. A critical product requirement is the operational time. Various aspects of the design will be analyzed to determine the system’s ability to meet that requirement. The ability to meet that requirement along with weight, cost, and video performance will be rolled up into business value analysis. The analysis will be run through Model Center and integrate various analysis tools.

CR-8000
CR-8000 Design Force “Rules by Area” for those Dense Areas of the PCB
During the design cycle of a PCB, there may be times when the designer needs to loosen the rules to route in a dense area in their design. The way to do this is to create a “Rule Area” that will call for different design rules in the enclosed area. Helping Designer achieve 100 percent routing in a dense area of the PCB...

How to Use the Harness Builder for E3.series Additional Parts Feature
How to use the additional parts feature of Harness Builder for E3.series to aid in the harness drawing process. While creating our harness designs in E3.series we may want to include additional accessories for our devices. For example, with connectors, we might want to include things like wedge locks, back shells, dust caps, mounting accessories, heat shields, etc...

Bridging the Gap Between 2D and 3D Cabinet Design Processes
By Sanu Warrier

A 3D design process has many advantages over a 2D design process. The number and effectiveness of these advantages varies with the complexity of the system. A well-managed 3D cabinet design process can reduce time and error by more than 50%. Consider the mechanical design space; an overwhelming majority of designs use 3D solid modeling applications. However, the electrical design industry cannot say the same. The key to accelerating a 3D design process is to use a design solution capable of bridging the gap between 2D and 3D design methodologies.
